KONY 2012

Today during my Global Geography class my teacher brought up the topic of KONY and how it has fallen through because of the incident of the man we seen in the video. The footage we have seen in the video was from a while ago. They first tried to publish the video in 2004, but it failed because it got no attention. They tried again in 2012 and were successful until the collapse. Most people have seen e man collapse on national television. I am willing to say that this was because of what the company did to him not him not being able to handle the publicity. People say that he was not part of the organization Invisible Children and there were people controlling him. The reason that the advertising worked this time around is because they used celebrities. Some of the celebrities they used suggest that there is much more than just getting KONY. One example is the governor of Texas, a place that that is known for their oil. Only recently Northern Uganda has been recognized for their oil. So as we all know, oil means money. I am not saying the people at Invisible Children are crooks but their financial statements were not right and KONY is no longer a threat. So perhaps the purpose of this little attention spree was all to get money then get oil from Uganda. Anyway the big day happened a few days ago, where we were supposed to drown our city in KONY posters, but I had no interest because of the events that have taken place. I believe that many other people agree with me. At least where I am from.

The Beginning

Today was a very lazy day. I woke up at 10:30 AM and watch the NHL Playoffs until I had the urge to watch a movie. My friend had recently recommended that I visit the site http://www.1channel.ch/. It turns out that it is an amazing site and has just about every movie/TV show that you could imagine. I chose to watch the social network, a movie I have been interested in seeing for a long time. It turns out to be a fantastic film and I would recommend it to anyone. However I am no movie critic, but I would rate it a 9/10 and the only reason it is no 10/10 is because there are a lot of dark scenes where I had trouble seeing. that movie is actually why I am here. It has inspired me to get more involved with computers, so I started my first blog. I am hoping that there will be many more to come and the topics will continue to get more diverse so I can attract a larger audience.
